Lafuma is introducing eco-labels for the products in its Pure Leaf ecodesign collection. The aim is to provide consumers keen to make responsible purchases with as much information as possible.
The proposals announced by France's Grenelle Forum on the Environment included measuring the environmental performance of products and services, informing consumers about their carbon balance, and reducing the environmental footprint of business. Lafuma is already one step ahead of this movement,
demonstrating its active commitment.
By establishing its own Pure Leaf Grade, Lafuma is joining a global movement of companies anxious to respond to consumer demands for information. It enables everyone to find out the environmental impact of products (textiles, equipment, footwear, garden furniture), from raw materials to final disposal, taking in manufacture and transport. A product's environmental impact is symbolized by poplar leaves. With a quick
look at the label consumers can immediately see how the product affects the environment.
To develop the Pure Leaf Grade we drew on the expertise of Lafuma teams, who have been committed to sustainable development for the last 15 years. Lafuma's responsible approach is reflected in the four
strategic priorities set by the Pure Leaf Grade: careful selection of raw materials; strict control of energy in manufacturing processes; carbon-efficient transport; and allowance for a product's overall life cycle from the start of design.
